Inoculation of an online outlet
Welcome to My New Website!
Hello, and thank you for visiting my brand new website, ConnorsDesigns.com! I’m thrilled to have you here and hope you’ve had the chance to explore the four galleries I’ve set up on the site. This first blog post is a chance for me to share why I created this website and what I hope to accomplish with it.
For a long time, I was creating art but not sharing it. My work was piling up on tables or displayed only within my home. I felt like I was bottlenecking my creativity by keeping it to myself. I’ve always loved being creative, but when I was only creating for my own enjoyment, I felt like I was limiting both my potential and the impact I could have as an artist. I wanted to break free from that cycle and share my creations with the world.
This website represents a new beginning—a space where I can share my work not just with friends, family, and social media followers, but with anyone who might be interested. I wanted to offer a window into what I’ve been spending my time creating and give everyone the opportunity to see my art. It felt like the right time to create this platform, to share my pieces, and to allow my creativity to reach a wider audience.
At first, I thought building a website would be a daunting and time-consuming task, especially since I’d never built one before. But once I discovered Squarespace, I quickly realized how user-friendly it was. I dove right in, and within less than a week, I had a functioning website. I’m proud of what I’ve created and excited to continue growing it in the future.
A Lifelong Passion for Art
Creating art has always been a part of who I am. As a child, I was constantly drawing. Whether it was simple sketches of cats and dogs to give to my classmates or more elaborate drawings of medieval battles and power rangers on the walls of my house, I was always creating something.
As I got older, my focus shifted, and I found myself immersed in video games like World of Warcraft, Diablo 2, Halo, Call of Duty, and RuneScape. These games took up a lot of my time, and my creative pursuits began to fade. I thought about studying graphic design in high school but ultimately chose to pursue nursing instead, as it seemed like a more practical career choice at the time, especially with the nursing shortage.
I attended UW Oshkosh and Marian University, where I graduated with a nursing degree. However, during those six years, I found myself focused more on academics and socializing than on creating art. It wasn’t until I moved to Colorado Springs to begin working as a home healthcare nurse that my creative spark was reignited. The beautiful surroundings and new environment encouraged me to get back into painting. I started with acrylics, then moved to pen sketching, and most recently, I’ve become passionate about pyrography.
These creative outlets have brought me back to a healthier, more balanced space as an adult, and I’m excited to continue exploring new mediums and pushing the boundaries of my creativity.
The Vision Ahead
One of the key goals for this website is to continue growing and experimenting as an artist. I want to use this platform not only to showcase my fine art but also to explore other creative areas, such as writing, videography, flow-arts, and more. In a world where the pace of life often leads people to focus more on consumption than creation, I believe creativity is something we should all embrace.
I truly believe that if more people tapped into their creative potential, we could transcend and grow—not just as individuals, but as a society. The ease of consuming entertainment, shopping, and social media makes it all too easy to become passive in life. I want this website to serve as a space for inspiration and motivation, encouraging others to explore their own creativity. Whether it’s through art, writing, or other forms of expression, I hope to inspire you to embrace the creative spirit within you.
If we stay curious and open-minded, there’s always something new to discover and someone new to meet. I encourage you to explore and try new things—who knows what passions might emerge along the way?
I’ll continue to update the site with new artwork, blog posts, and—hopefully—fun and engaging video content in the future. I’m excited for the journey ahead and hope you’ll check back often.
Thank you for being here and for supporting my creative journey!
Warm regards,
Brendon Connors
